Bringing a Golf Cart?
Personal golf cart use incurs a $5 per night charge based on the length of your stay. Up to two (2) golf carts may be registered with each reserved cabin.
Select the number of golf carts you plan tp bring. Your golf cart charge will be calculated based on the number of nights of your stay.
Call the Reservation Desk for questions or assistance with registering additional golf carts.
Pet Charges
Pet-friendly cabins may accommodate up to two pets weighing less than 75 pounds each.
A $55 charge per reserved cabin is required.
If your plans change, please note that pet-charge refunds must be requested prior to your arrival.

Cabin Policies
Please note check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Please contact individual parks for late or early arrival instructions.
- Cabins and villas have a minimum stay restriction of at least two nights. Some parks have longer minimum stay requirements during peak season.
- Advanced Reservations can be booked 13 months out. Minimum reservation window for cabins is 3 days prior to arrival. Reservations requested less than 3 days in advance of check-in must be made directly through the park. During periods of high demand, and select holiday periods, minimum stay requirements for lodging may vary. Some parks rent cabins by the week during high demand periods.
- Requires a deposit of half of your total reservation cost. The balance is due upon check-in.
- Pets are not allowed in cabins/villas. Pets are allowed in most other outdoor areas provided they are kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet or crated. They cannot be left unattended in a vehicle.
- Discounts are not allowed on cabins/villas.
- To cancel or transfer a reservation, the caller must be able to provide either the name or phone number on the reservation or the reservation number. Cancellations can be made online by providing the reservation number and email address.
- Transfers made 30+ days from reservation date will incur no charges; 15-29 days will forfeit a $20.00 per unit Administrative Fee (non-taxable); 14 or less days will forfeit entire deposit, no refund.
- Cancellations made 30+ days will incur a $10.00 per unit Administrative fee (non-taxable); 15-29 will forfeit the 1st night's stay; 14 or less will forfeit all deposit funds, no refund.
- To ensure fairness in reserving campsites, you cannot transfer or shorten a reservation more than 12 months in advance of the arrival date.
- Reservations are for a specific park and cannot be transferred from one park to another.

- Promotional discounts cannot be transferred at the discounted rate.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all South Carolina State Park facilities including lodges, cabins, and villas.
Golf Cart Use Policy
Park roads are official state roadways; therefore, all vehicles driven on park roads must meet and obey state laws the same as vehicles allowed to be driven outside park boundaries.
The following rules apply to golf cart use in SC State Parks:
- Motorized Vehicles must be registered with the South Carolina Department of Transportation or the appropriate state Agency;
- The golf cart owner is licensed and the appropriate license/decal must be securely fasten to the cart as described by law;
- Driver must possess a valid state-issued driver's license;
- Golf carts will be restricted to park roadways for access into or egress out of the area during daylight hours only. Drivers must obey all traffic laws as other licensed vehicles;
- Occupants may not exceed the seating capacity of the vehicle;
- Motorized Vehicles may not be driven on the beach except for assisting disabled guests;
- Disabled guests may access the beach via golf cart only in designated areas. Handicap placards must be visible on the golf cart at all times .
- Golf carts cannot be driven on hiking or horse trails, or other areas with restricted access to the public;
- Golf carts or other motorized vehicles may not be used to "joyride" through the campground or other areas of the park;
- Golf carts shall not be driven on roads in developed recreation areas for any purpose other than access into or egress out of the area.
Guests bringing golf carts overnight must pay the $5 per night per golf cart fee. Day use will be charged general admission for use of the golf cart, assuming they are not occupying more than one parking space.
Pet Policies & Responsibilities
This policy applies only to specifically designated Pet-Friendly lodging facilities at Barnwell, Devils Fork, Dreher Island, Hickory Knob, Lake Hartwell, Oconee, & Santee.
For the comfort and safety of all visitors and pets, we ask pet owners to read, adhere, and agree to the following pet policies when reserving a designated pet-friendly lodging facility.
- A non-refundable pet charge of $55 (per pet-friendly unit) must be paid upon arrival.
- Pets are only allowed in designated pet-friendly cabins or lodge rooms and must be kept out of all other park facilities.
- No more than two pets are permitted in a pet-friendly cabin or lodge room.
- Pets must weigh less than 75 pounds.
- Pet owners are responsible for the cost of any necessary cleaning or repair due to pet stains and/or damage, as determined within the sole discretion of Park Management.
- Pets must be restrained on a leash no longer than six (6) feet or in a pet carrier when outside the designated pet-friendly cabin or lodge room.
- Pets may not be left unattended in or outside the cabin or lodge room.
- Visitors must properly remove and dispose of any litter or waste associated with their pet(s).
- Pet owners are responsible for any noise created by their pets and must ensure that the quiet and enjoyment of other park visitors are not disrupted at any time.
- Pets must be clean, free from infestation and current with all vaccinations. Proof of such vaccinations should be available upon request.
- Park Management reserves the right to prohibit any pet on the premises that may pose a risk to our visitors or staff.
- We reserve the right to require immediate removal of any pet that displays dangerous or unacceptable behavior.
Acceptance of this policy acknowledges your responsibility to pay any extra charges relating to damage caused your my pet(s).
You also release State Parks, the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, and the State of South Carolina from any and all liability for any injury and/or damage suffered by your pet(s) to third parties or property of third parties.
You also understand that the State has no responsibility for the care of your pet(s) and release the State from all liability related to their care and safety.
